The National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra has been established since 1945. The orchestra's high musical standard has already received international fame and is also deeply loved by domestic music fans. Since 2012, with a mind set out to promote musical education for all and to assist the Agency of Corrections Ministry of Justice in its promotion of moralization through arts and culture, the Orchestra went to ten off-shore island correctional institutions, including the Penghu prison, the Lyudao prison, and the Kinmen prison. They organized musical guided tours and brass quintet. They even went to the juvenile correctional school of Ming Yang High School and Taoyuan Reform School to assist with the training of a concert band. On October 6 last year, the band was engaged in a joint concert named "Bound towards the Sun, Arousal of the Heart" with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Taoyuan Reform School and Ming Yang High School at the Concert Hall of Wufeng District, Taichung City. This has not only left a deep impression on the audience, but was also a great incentive for the juvenile inmates. Currently, in 2013, the orchestra continued to care for these juvenile inmates and also continued spreading their passion for music. Since the beginning of this year, once again, they took up the task of assisting in the training of concert bands of Changhua Reform Schools, Ming Yang School, and Chengjheng High School. On November 9, a joint concert of "The Soaring Music of the Brilliant Phoenix" with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Changhua Reform Schools, Ming Yang School, and Chengjheng High School was held at the same venue. Liu Mei-Xian, the Deputy Minister of the Department, came especially to the venue. She not only expressed her sincere thanks to the Orchestra, but also gave her recognition for the efforts they made to perform onstage. She also encouraged the students to keep this valuable experience in mind, so that they can strive forward, adjust their life attitude and direction, and transform their lives and renew.

The concert repertoire included many familiar songs such as "Tomorrow Will Be Better", "Spring Breeze", "A Grateful Heart", and "Man Should Be Self-reliant". The students exhibited on stage the results of six months' painstaking practice. Regardless of whether it's a single-player performance or a multiple-player performance, the ensemble displayed a great ensemble rapport that exceeded the standard. Through these musical notes, the students can express their musical realization of their hearts and their self-reflection of life, and presented it completely to the audience and the parents of the students. Watching the children perform on stage, with eyes filled up with tears, the parents were all proud and gratified. The concert ended in an uproarious applause. The touching effect that this brought will be imprinted deeply in everyone's heart.
